Development of software for digital diagnosis support and documentation
in veterinary medicine (DDiT = "digitale Diagnoseunterstützung und
Dokumentation in der Tiermedizin" ).
"Digitalization is necessary for the survival of the
veterinary business. The tendency towards audiovisual presentation is
increasing" (Veterinarian Björn Becker and Dr. Hans-Joachim Krüger, BPT
Congress 2020).
The planned project will develop software in the
field of veterinary medicine that incorporates visual (digital images)
and tabular findings, AI models (numerical methods and machine learning
on image and tabular data) for diagnostic support.
For the first time, this enables complex descriptive reporting of
findings with rapid documentation, which also allows progression
predictions and is thus not only of high importance for preventive
medicine but also in the context of innovative practice digitalization.
A special feature of this project lies in a team of experts from practical veterinary medicine and academic researchers who combine their interdisciplinary competences in the fields of numerical mathematics, deep learning, user experience, veterinary diagnostics and international continuing education in veterinary medicine in order to advance digitalization, processing technology and innovative communication channels in the field of preventive and therapeutic veterinary medicine. The project is funded by the Hessian State Chancellery, Hessian Minister for Digital Strategy and Development - as part of a joint project of VBS VetVerlag, Beratung und Seminar GmbH with h_da Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
